Inaugural Battle of the burgers to benefit Eblen Charities August 10th

Are you a burger fan? If you are do we have an event for you… Asheville Food Fights, who recently completed an amazingly successful Asheville Wing War, will launch a new event that will not only crown Asheville’s best hamburger, but will help those in need in our community through the work of Eblen Charities.

The WNC Battle of the Burger is scheduled for 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel downtown and will feature fifteen of our area’s best burger restaurants.

Participants to date include:  Ambrozia, Farm Burger, Mojo Kitchen and Lounge, King James Public House, The Social, BT’s Burger Joint, The Vault, Ben’s Tune Up, Farm to Fender, Buffalo Nickel, Packs Tavern, and Ingles Markets.

Restaurants will set up grills and griddles and cook up thousands of burger samples for the attendees while three local bands take the stage. Pepsi of Asheville, Sierra Nevada and Pisgah Brewing will be providing drinks to keep everyone cool as the grills heat up.

The WNC Battle of the Burger is an official qualifying event of the World Food Championship and is sponsored in part by Ingles Markets and  Clear Channel Radio Group.

Tickets are $5 for general admission, and children 12 and under are free. “You Be the Judge Tickets” are $30 for unlimited burgers, complimentary beer, early entrance and a ballot to vote for WNC’s Best Burger.

You can nominate your favorite local burger joint by commenting on the Asheville Food Fights Facebook page or by emailing [email protected].

If you would like to join the fun at the Battle of the Burgers, purchase tickets, or for more information, please contact Susan Riddle at Eblen Charities at 828-255-3066 or via email at [email protected].
