Thank you for your support of the Eblen Charities’ 20th Anniversary Walk, Run or Roll event, presented by Beverly-Hanks REALTORS this spring. This year was all virtual, as in planning this year’s Walk, we did not feel as though we could have our big Walk event. However, it was still important to raise funds for the increasing number of families seeking help- many of which are still affected by the pandemic. Because of the generosity of our community, we raised more than $24,000.
Thank you to our sponsors: Beverly-Hanks, Realtors, McKinney Insurance Services, Great Beginnings Dentistry and Great Smiles Orthodontics, WLOS ABC 13, Star 104.3, 99.9 Kiss Country, Applied Solutions Group, First Citizens Bank, Outback Steakhouse, Two Men And A Truck of Asheville N.C., Carland and Andersen CPA, and Dave and Peggy White.
And special thanks to Neal Hanks, Beverly-Hanks president, for serving as honorary chair for this community event to raise emergency housing funds for Buncombe County student families hurt by the pandemic.
The Wicked Weed/Brad Johnson Celebrity Golf Classic is set for Tuesday, June 15th and will be held at the Cliffs at Walnut Cove. Email Julie Johnson, [email protected] for sponsorship, team and registration information.
For the seventh straight year, Eblen launched its Hoops Against Hunger campaign in partnership with the Ingles Southern Conference Basketball Championships earlier this month at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center. We are grateful for our partnership with the Southern Conference, Asheville-Buncombe Sports Commission and Explore Asheville for their help in promoting the food drive.
Together we helped more than 600 children get school supplies, easing the financial burden on the family, helping teachers and helping the children feel confident and happy to start school!
This year the pandemic has changed the way we do things almost daily. The BOOsters and Pumpkins fundraiser is one of Eblen’s key fundraisers, helping hundreds of families receive assistance throughout the year.
Eblen, along with its’ many partners, provides a turkey and all the fixings at Thanksgiving to those in need in our community.
Due to COVID-19, this fundraiser has been cancelled for 2020.
The Ingles Magical Christmas Toy Drive is a three day event held at Ingles on Tunnel Rd. to collect Christmas donations for children and families in our community who are struggling to provide Christmas for their children. This event benefits the Eblen Charities’ Saint Nicholas Project.
The Saint Nicholas Project is in Partnership with Ingles Markets, WLOS-TV, iHeartRadio, Asheville-Citizen Times, Great Beginnings and Great Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, the Harley’s Owner’s Group, the Smoky Mountain Toy Run, Two Men and a Truck, and hundreds of other businesses and families.
