“Twenty years ago, Joe Eblen asked me to help him with a project and I have been involved as a volunteer and partner ever since. When this opportunity presented itself, the timing felt right for me to dedicate my efforts full time to Eblen, especially after Hurricane Helene devastated our area.”
Long Time Eblen Supporter Brian Hall to Assume Top Leadership Role in January
Asheville, NC, December 4th, 2024
Eblen Charities announced the appointment of Brian Hall to the position of Executive Director, effective January 1, 2025.
Hall will be replacing the current ED, Beth Russo, who will assist with the leadership transition. Mr. Hall, who has served on the Eblen Board of Directors for many years, is well known in Western North Carolina for his long-time work with iHeart Radio Asheville and his role as a sportscaster for local athletics. Most recently, he was one of the “voices of Asheville” when his radio station became one of the sources of information and human contact in the days following Hurricane Helene. Hall expressed his enthusiasm for the role, noting that “Twenty years ago, Joe Eblen asked me to help him with a project and I have been involved as a volunteer and partner ever since. When this opportunity presented itself, the timing felt right for me to dedicate my efforts full time to Eblen, especially after Hurricane Helene devastated our
area.”
Outgoing Executive Director Beth Russo will remain associated with Eblen and will provide transition guidance. Hall noted that “Beth Russo has done an amazing job over the last three years and I’m honored to be following in her footsteps as we move forward in 2025.”
